Well it seems like YouTube has struck a major deal with various television media houses in India.
I just logged into my YouTube account to find out a new link tab called "TV shows" . What I ended up discovering is a whole archive of Indian TV shows right there infornt of my eyes, any episode from the shows available at the click of a mouse.
Although I m not a big fan of these Indian television shows but I m sure this will add a lot of value to YouTube in India.
There are now over 19,000 full episodes of 300 programs in six different languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, and Punjabi). All this conveniently available under a special page. The list of YouTube TV show partners include Sony Entertainment Television, Colors, ImagineTV, Star India, and VikatanTV.
You can almost find all shows that have been broadcasted on the Sony Entertainment television and the Sony SAB network, just to make a mention even Roadies 5.0 is available. This is a really big leap for YouTube India. Just imagine, now you can watch all the popular TV shows for free without nasty advertisements in the middle, at your convenient time, on your convenient device. Seems like there will be less of household tiffs to watch a perticular TV show.
I think this might as well increase Google TV sales in India.
