The world's smallest USB Flash stick from Deonet

USB Flash drives or Pen Drives as a lot of people popularly call them these days come in all shapes and sizes. Just when you are already worrying about loosing you new USB Flash stick because of its really tiny size; Imagine a USB as small as the size or your thumb nail. That's what  'DEONET', a Dutch manufacturer know for making funky data storage solution has come up with, the world's smallest USB stick.

The USB stick looks somewhat on the lines of a micro-SD card, It has a really tiny dimension of 19.5 x 14.5 x 2.9 mm. The really tiny size has been made possible by a technology called Micro UDP chip. UDP here stands for the 'USB Disk Package' assembly process, here the controller, the flash IC and other passive components  are directly molded into a very small, single package which makes it possible to make the flash drive less than half the physical size of other existing USB memory solutions.

The USB stick will be available in storage capacities of  4, 8 and 16 GB. The most interesting thing about the size is it can be even kept in your wallet or just hanged in a key-chain. The USB stick barely protrudes out of the USB port of a PC or laptop. This makes it possible to leave the USB stick in the laptop, even if  you want to store your laptop in a laptop bag.

The USB stick will be introduced later in January 2012 at the biggest business fair for promotional gifts in Europe called the 'PSI Düsseldorf'.
